Another of the EdWeek blogs that has interesting commentary is Bridging Differences where Diane Ravitch and Deborah Meier carry on a conversation. Really.
One of the interesting recent developments involving Diane Ravitch is that she and Chester Finn at the Fordham Foundation have just edited a book titled "Beyond the Basics: Achieving a Liberal Education for All Children" that includes chapters lamenting the loss of literature and the arts in the schools. Pretty ironic given that the two of them spent a good part of the last decade helping fuel the accountability steamroller that is responsible for the liberal arts being marginalized.
CEE is a Conference of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE), a professional association of educators in English studies, literacy, and language arts. NCTE is devoted to improving the teaching and learning of English and the language arts at all levels of education.
